In order to observe the 3rd phase of multi-party democracy general election on 25th January, Belarus Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Uladimir Baravikou, together with the Belarus delegation led by chairperson of Belarusian Party visited Yangon.

While in Yangon, Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) has a chance to learn the ambassador’s opinion on Myanmar-Belarus diplomatic relations and his feedback as he already observed the 1st phase of election process in Nay Pyi Taw on 28th of December 2025.

Myanmar is holding the multi-party democracy general election in three phases. The first phase took place on December 28, 2025, the second phase on January 11, 2026 and the third phase is scheduled on January 25. The Belarus Embassy has contributed the observer delegations since the 1st phase of the election.

The Ambassador further stated that President Aleksandr Lukashenko has consistently emphasized that elections in any country should be conducted in accordance with national laws and in the interest of its citizens. He described elections as a process that must operate within a legal framework to achieve national goals.

He expressed confidence that, following the successful completion of the election, a newly elected government would emerge and contribute further to Myanmar’s development. He also reaffirmed that Belarus, as a friendly nation, would continue to provide necessary assistance to support Myanmar’s development process.
