







Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin visited the Technological University (Thanlyin) on Thursday and met with the Rector, Professors, faculties and students.
During the meeting, the Union Minister emphasized the importance of human resource development in implementing the tasks of the ministry including oil and gas exploration, building and repair of natural gas pipelines, and construction of oil refineries and fertilizer plants.
He said plans are underway to open the energy skill training school in Pyin Oo Lwin, adding that post-graduated and training courses will be provided for energy sector. He urged all to make concerted efforts to be excelled in respective subjects. During the meeting, cash rewards were presented for the library and research works.
The Union Minister then took a tour at the Petrolchemical Department and Chemical Engineering Department, observing the library and laboratories. The Union Minister then visited the Offshore Oil Base (Thaketa) and heard reports on work undertakings. He instructed to carry out the tasks in line with the rules and regulations, meeting the set standards. He then took a tour around the Offshore Oil Base.
