Inspection of Hotels in Myitkyina: Union Minister inspected hotels in Myitkyina

Union Minister for the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, accompanied by relevant officials, inspected the Shwe Hee Hotel and the Jade Garden Hotel in Myitkyina on January 21.

During the inspection, the Union Minister toured the premises to oversee the renovations and construction status in accordance with the hotels' official ratings, the condition of guest rooms, dining halls, and the delivery of hospitality services, service systems and the maintenance of standard operational requirements for the hotel industry.

The Union Minister provided guidance on improving the quality of the hotel sector to effectively support the development of regional tourism. Later that day, the Union Minister attended sporting events held in honor of the 78th Kachin State Day (which fell on January 10), including the finals and prize-giving ceremony of the Karate Kumite Competition and a friendly football match featuring the Kachin State Old Star former select team.

The Union Minister remarked that starting from 2026, these activities will more firmly establish Kachin State on a path toward tourism development and the promotion of sports culture. He encouraged officials to collaborate on future programs to organize innovative Sports Tourism Festivals and increase travel attractions. He urged everyone to work together to uplift Myanmar’s sports standards and enhance the performance of the tourism sector.
