MRTV Fresher’s Welcome: Union Minister for Information attended the ceremony

Union Minister for Information, U Maung Maung Ohn, attended the Capacity Building Training for new staff and the Freshers' Welcome Ceremony at MRTV facility in Tatkone, Nay Pyi Taw on January 20.

The event commenced with a performance of the song "Forever MRTV" by staff members, followed by the screening of video clips titled "The Role of State Media in Continuous Efforts for the Benefit of the State and Citizens" and "Promoting Youth Participation in Peace and Nation Building."

In his address, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn highlighted the the media sector is vital in the current era, beyond its three primary duties, state media must strive through various means to release accurate news to encourage public happiness and active participation in national development and stability.

There is a need to transform the vast amount of internet data into accurate Information, utilize it as Knowledge, and further refine it into Wisdom to distinguish right from wrong. He emphasized utilizing AI technology based on the foundations of Critical Thinking and Ethical Use etc.

The Union Minister then presented 45 "Pan Paung Sone" Buddha images to MRTV staff families and awarded 1.5 million Kyats to trainees through a lucky draw. The ceremony concluded with a performance of "MRTV Will Live On" and a commemorative group photo. Following the meeting, the Union Minister and officials inspected the upgrading of the Surround Mixing and Mastering Studio in the main building, where officials provided a practical demonstration.

They inspected the repairs being carried out by Shwe Taung Construction Company on ceilings, walls, and floors damaged during the Mandalay earthquake, the installation and testing of equipment intended for the live broadcast of Parliamentary (Hluttaw) sessions and the fourth phase (250 Tons) of the installation of a 1,000-Ton Chiller System, designed to save electricity in the main building and The Union Minister instructed that the works meet prescribed standards and be completed on time and. Then, the Union Minister shared a friendly lunch with the new staff members at the office canteen.
