Meeting with Officials and Locals: Acting President met with officials & locals in Kengtong

The Acting President, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, met with officials and local residents of Kyaingtong Township in Shan State (East) at the City Hall to discuss regional development matters in the morning on January 19.

First, the Shan State Chief Minister explained matters related to the Shan State (East) region, ongoing agricultural and livestock farming activities, measures being taken to develop MSMEs, strict enforcement to prevent illegal trade, development efforts in the education sector, improvements being made in the health and sports sectors, the successful holding of Phases (1) and (2) of the multi-party democracy General elections, and preparations underway to hold Phase (3) of the election. Subsequently, local residents submitted their requests, including upgrading the Kyaingtong-Tachileik and Kyaingtong-Taunggyi roads to Union Highway standards, the progress of regional development during the acting president's visits to Shan State (East) in accordance with guidance given, fulfilling the need for teaching staff in the education sector in Shan State (East) and other regional requirements.

Afterwards, Union Ministers and Deputy Ministers explained the ongoing implementation of the work in their respective sectors. Following this, the Acting President SSPC Chairman, in his address, emphasized that state responsibilities have been carried out in accordance with the constitution and efforts are being made to strengthen the multiparty democratic path, that support is being given to domestic production enterprises based on agriculture and livestock and that efforts are being made to foster the production of quality educated human resources.

He stated that the government will continue to implement its political promises accordingly. He added that whichever government leads, it must inevitably support national education, therefore, Shan State (East) must continue to support education. For the development of their own region, all local residents and officials must collaborate and strive together.

He noted that through the development of each region, the nation will also develop. Afterwards, the Acting President SSPC Chairman warmly greeted the attending officials, local residents, and the public. The Acting President SSPC Chairman and members then toured the exhibition booths displaying products from MSMEs within Shan State (East) with keen interest and provided necessary guidance on the presentations made by the responsible officials, it’s reported.
