Earthquake Rehabilitation Works: Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman inspects work progress

Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, together with council members and officials, inspected ongoing earthquake rehabilitation works at Uppatasanti Pagoda on Sunday.

He reviewed repair works to damaged areas caused by the Mandalay earthquake, including the pagoda platform, surrounding structures, soil stabilization, cement grouting, void filling, piling works, flooring repairs, drainage systems, and crack repairs inside the pagoda corridors.

Officials reported progress, and the council chairman instructed to complete the works quickly, systematically, and in line with set standards to ensure long-term stability. The council chairman also inspected damage and repair works at religious buildings, the Malini Mingala Lake, and office buildings within the pagoda compound. He emphasized timely completion, structural durability, cleanliness, and maintaining the overall appearance of religious structures.
