






Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win visited the Central Women’s Hospital (Yangon) on January 18.
He inspected the emergency department, renovation works, blood bank, laboratory services, and 24-hour emergency testing arrangements. He also comforted the patients, and met with healthcare workers, offering encouragement.
During a meeting with hospital management, doctors, nurses, and staff, the Union Minister emphasized improving the quality of maternal and women’s healthcare, strengthening hospital services, training future specialists, reducing maternal and newborn mortality, and ensuring patient safety.
He also highlighted upgrades to nursing education, fertility treatment services, and renovation of the historic hospital buildings. Later, the Union Minister visited Yangon Children’s Hospital, where he inspected emergency and outpatient departments, dental services and vaccination rooms. The Union Minister also reviewed the care of two-year-old conjoined twins, and gave instructions on preparations for their future separation surgery.
