Celebration in Loikaw: 74th anniversary Kayah State Day held in Loikaw

Celebration for the 74th anniversary Kayah State Day took place in Loikaw on Thursday. After formal opening of the ceremony, Executive Chief of the National Defence and Security Council Office U Aung Lin Dwe unveiled the ceremonial arch, and presented cash rewards to the cultural dance troupes.

In the subsequent ceremony, the attendees saluted the state flag and paid tribute to the fall heroes. The Executive Chief later read out the message sent by Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing on the 74th anniversary occasion.

Then, Chief Minister U Sein Oo extended honourary speech. This was followed by presenting of outstanding awards to the recipients in various categories. At Kandar Haywun Park, the Executive Chief and party enjoyed the Kayah and Kayan traditional game contests and awarded the winners in various games.

They also took a tour of the commemorative exhibition. In the afternoon, the Executive Chief and party attended the opening ceremony of new school building at Lawdhamma Basic Education Branch High School.

They then visited Loikaw University and inspected the renovation works of the university buildings which have been damaged by the terrorist acts. Then also paid homage to the Sutaungpyae pagoda, offering flowers, water and lights. At night, the Executive Chief attended the commemorative reception for the 74th anniversary Kayah State Day.
