Drug Eradication Efforts: Seizure of drugs in Shan State (North)

Myanmar is striving to eradicate the narcotic drugs as a national duty. In its efforts to drug eradication, the security forces, in early January, have made on the seizure of equipment used in online gambling and substances used in manufacturing drugs in Thibaw and Mongyai townships of Shan State (North) as well as 3 main drug manufacturing sites.

Due to further investigation, the combined teams on 15th January, seized substances and equipment including acid containers, single punch tablet press machines and warehouses near one of the main drug manufacturing sites, northeast of Nar Lin Village, about 34 kilometer northwest of Mongyai Township in Shan State (North). The seized substances and equipment will be handed over to respective departments and necessary destruction will be conducted along with requisite operations.

As the government is making strenuous efforts to eradicate drug abuse with the collaboration of international organizations, the public is urged to apprise drug related information to authority in timely manner to be able to take action against those illegal individuals who are harming nation’s dignity.
