Myanmar / India: Cooperation on Pilot Project for Digital Identity

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing on Tuesday received Mr. Sanjeev Bhatia, Advisor Technology & Consulting from the National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) of the Republic of India and his delegation at the Ministry's meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, they exchanged views and discussed the progress of the cooperation between the Ministry and the Government of the Republic of India under the Memorandum of Understanding for collaborative work on the pilot project for Myanmar's Digital Identity, the effective implementation of public services by integrating Myanmar's current e-ID system with India's MOSIP Platform, and the conditions for continued collaborative assistance.

It is reported that the visiting Indian technical experts will exchange experiences and conduct necessary technical testing and linking from November 11 to 19, in collaboration with technical officials from the Ministry, as part of the Digital ID pilot project cooperation under the MoU.
