Myanmar / Russia: Navy Pacific Fleet Paying Goodwill Visit

The Russian Navy Pacific Fleet frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, the corvette Gremyashchiy and the supply vessel Boris Butoma arrived at Thilawa Port in Yangon in the evening of November 10 for the third Myanmar-Russia bilateral maritime security exercise and a goodwill visit to Myanmar. They were welcomed by senior officers of the Tatmadaw (Navy), visiting Deputy Chief of the Russian Navy and concerned officials.

The delegation was led by the Captain 1st Rank Ulyanenko Aleksey from the Russian Navy Pacific Fleet. It’s reported that the visit includes sightseeing tours to famous landmarks in Yangon, holding friendly sports competitions between the two countries, and conducting port-based exercises (Harbour Phase).
