









The ceremony for presenting honorary certificates and the honorary dinner of the 26th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition was held at the Yay Ge Taung Hall of Zeyyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw in the evening on October 13, attended and honored by the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
First, in his honorary address, the Acting President SSPC Chairman said that today's ceremony is one held to honor the veteran adjudicator panel member artists and the administrators and supporters from the Regions and States, who gave their full assistance and support with all their ability, strength, and complete goodwill for the successful completion of the 26th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition.
He stated that the Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition, which plays a significant role in fulfilling the very noble national objective of preserving and promoting national culture, has been successfully concluded. He also expressed his belief that all the veteran artists and adjudicator panel member artists, who contributed to the success of this competition with all their ability and strength, would share the satisfaction and pride of the State Government.
He continued that in the present era, it is known to all that various cultural infiltrations are entering and mixing into various fields through the use of increasing openness and media freedom. Therefore, countries everywhere are striving to value, preserve, and ensure the long-term endurance of their traditional cultural practices and characteristics. National culture is the lifeblood of a country and a people.
Thus, he urged that during such times, using the power of art, efforts should be made to inspire and enhance the cultural preservation, protection, and safeguarding immunity for the entire populace, including the new generation of youth.
Afterwards, the Acting President SSPC Chairman presented honorary certificates to Chairperson Daw Thin Thin Myat on behalf of the Singing Adjudication Panel; Chairperson U Aung Tin Win on behalf of the Dance Adjudication Panel; Secretary U Min Htet Thar on behalf of the Writing Adjudication Panel; Chairperson U Saw Win on behalf of the Instrumental Music Adjudication Panel; administrator from Magway Region representing the administrators from the Regions and States; and one master of ceremonies representing the masters of ceremonies.
Next, on behalf of the adjudicators, Singing Adjudicator U Tin Oo Lay expressed words of thanks. Following this, the Acting President SSPC Chairman joined the attendees of the ceremony and competition participants in sharing the honorary dinner together. Subsequently, as a special program, from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, the senior scholars from the Department of Arts, retired staff officer and master Pantaya U Myint Thein, aged 74, and retired distinguished professor Dr. Nu Nu Khin, aged 76, from the National University of Culture and Arts (Mandalay), along with the young new generation inheritors, first prize winners of the basic education level (ages 15 to 20) dance competition from Mon State, Maung Saw Aung Hein Htway (called Ae Ae), and first prize winner of the basic education level (ages 10 to 15) dance competition from Yangon Region, Nan Katay San Oo, performed the honorary passing-the-torch dance “Thitsa Htar Duet Dance.”
Afterwards, the retired staff officer and master Pantaya U Myint Thein and retired distinguished professor Dr. Nu Nu Khin, who had performed the honorary entertainment, were presented with honorary awards and cash prizes, and interacted with them in a warm and friendly manner. After the honorary dinner, the Acting President SSPC Chairman cordially greeted the attendees of the ceremony, it is reported.
