A ceremony to grant family support benefits related to education expenses and natural disaster-related family support benefits to the children of insured workers within the Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw was held at the Zabu Thiri Hall on October 8.

Union Minister for Labour U Aung Kyaw Hoe attended and delivered a speech. In his opening remarks, the Union Minister stated that, as a social security organization, the goal is to make social security programs inclusive nationwide.

According to the 2012 Social Security Law, among the six types of insurance systems, the health and social care insurance system, the work injury benefits insurance system, and the family support insurance system are currently being implemented in line with the country's circumstances.

Following the guidance of the Head of State, starting from the 2025-2026 academic year, education expenses will be granted to the full-time students who are children of insured workers. The social security organization is continuously providing health care and financial benefits without interruption and will continue to strive to firmly establish itself as a trustworthy organization for employers and workers alike.

Subsequently, the Union Minister transferred over 567 million kyats, which is 40% of the family support benefits, to the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman. Likewise, the Deputy Minister transferred over 220 million kyats for educational expenses support to the Nay Pyi Taw Council member.

The Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman expressed gratitude. Afterwards, the Union Minister, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, and responsible officials visited the Nay Pyi Taw Council office to observe and encourage the health care services being provided to insured workers through the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU).
