






Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee and Union Minister for the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, observed the training sessions of preliminary selected athletes from Judo and Pétanque sports in the morning on October 8.
These athletes are currently in training camp in Nay Pyi Taw, preparing to compete in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games. First, the Union Minister observed and encouraged the training at the Judo training hall in the Sports Training (Gold Camp). He watched as coaches provided individual training to preliminary selected athletes and youth athletes on technical aspects through sparring.
Following this, the Union Minister inspected the status of the acquired competition uniforms (Judo-Ki) and belts for the athletes who will compete in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games. He instructed the responsible officials to make necessary preparations in advance so that the athletes become accustomed to the competition uniforms.
Subsequently, the Union Minister observed and encouraged the training of Pétanque athletes at the Pétanque training ground. Afterwards, he met with the management/coaches and athletes, offering necessary encouragement and instructions.
Later, the Union Minister visited the dining hall and observed the athletes having their lunch. It is learned that he instructed the responsible officials to calculate and provide the daily required calorie intake for the athletes in accordance with sports nutrition, to avoid waste, and to cook and serve clean, fresh meat and fish to ensure they receive full nutrition.
