



The closing ceremony of the Township Revenue Officers’ Professional Training Course No. 85 was held on Friday at the Internal Revenue Department of the Ministry of Finance and Revenue in Nay Pyi Taw. It’s attended by Union Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr. Kan Zaw, Deputy Ministers, department officials, trainers, and trainees.
At the ceremony, the Union Minister highlighted that this training covers tax principles, laws, rules and regulations, tax reform measures, tax accounting and auditing, tax collection using ICT technology, anti-money laundering matters and it also intends to improve management skills and to become more proficient in tax management skills.
He urges officials to share knowledge and experiences on principles of taxation: efficiency, compliance, certainty and fairness which was lectured at the training to colleagues at the department.
Moreover, he highlighted that the role of township revenue officers who are primarily responsible for tax collection activities in their respective township revenue offices and urged them to make efforts to collect taxes to achieve the target. In addition, it is necessary to give knowledge on taxation to the taxpayers according to tax laws.
Then, the Union Minister awards the first, second, third prize winners and certificates. A total of 46 township revenue officers from the respective township revenue offices attended the training course, and it lasted for 8 weeks.
