








A ceremony to respectfully convey the four sacred Buddha images of the Inle Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda from Lin Kin Village in Nyaungshwe Township to the Atthaditha Dhamma Vihara Dethasari temple and an Intha traditional boat race were held in the morning on Sunday.
The event was attended by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, Commander of the East-Command Brigadier General Naing Zaw Oo, officials, departmental representatives, invited guests, and local ethnic people. First, the Chief Minister, the Commander and attendees watched and enjoyed traditional ethnic dance performances.
Afterwards, they paid respects to the sacred Buddha images of the Inle Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, which had been conveyed on a Karweik royal barge and towed by traditional Inle rowing boats to the royal landing pavilion. They offered golden robes and then respectfully transferred the images onto vehicles for a ceremonial procession around Nyaungshwe Town before their conveyance to the temple.
Subsequently, the State Chief Minister, the Commander, and attendees watched and cheered on the Intha traditional boat racing competitions. They presented honorary awards and cash prize of honor to the winning teams. Later, the State Chief Minister, the Regional Commander, and attendees arrived at the Atthaditha Dhamma Vihara Dethasari temple, where the sacred Buddha images of the Inle Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda will temporarily reside.
They made offerings of cooked rice, water, flowers, oil lamps, and golden robes to the Buddha images. Following this, the State Chief Minister, the Regional Commander, and members attended the entrance ceremony for the sacred Buddha images at the Nyaungshwe temple and offered donations of various items.
The sacred Buddha images of Inle Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda will reside for veneration at the Atthaditha Dhamma Vihara Dethasari temple in Nyaungshwe for three days, from 28th until 30th September, to allow devotees from various regions to come and pay homage.
