Atomic Week: Acting President Attends Plenary Summit in Moscow

The World Atomic Week Forum 2025 was held on Thursday at the Atom Museum in Moscow, Russian Federation. Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing participated in the Plenary Summit under the title, "From a New Technological Rollout to a New Worldview."

In his address, the Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission stated that this international forum, World Atomic Week, being held in conjunction with the 80th Anniversary of the Russian Federation's Nuclear Industry, not only highlights the history of how nuclear energy and nuclear technology have contributed to the world's energy needs and sectors like agriculture, medicine, and industry, but also serves as a forum to discuss and share positive goals for future nuclear operations.

He noted that nuclear energy currently supplies 9 percent of the world's energy needs and that plans are being implemented to use a combination of renewable energy and nuclear energy in line with the World Net-Zero Carbon Emissions initiative.

He also emphasized that nuclear energy is a low-carbon "Green Energy" that can also provide stable electrical power. Myanmar is implementing its nuclear energy program in accordance with the guidelines of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), following three milestones and three stages, and adhering to the timeline set by ROSATOM.

Myanmar aims to generate stable electrical power from nuclear energy, as it is a low-carbon Green Energy, to foster the country's economic development. He also earnestly requested that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) continue to assist Myanmar in the human resource development required for its nuclear energy implementation.

It was reported that the World Atomic Week Forum 2025 is being held by the Russian State Nuclear Corporation, Rosatom, from September 25th to the 28th, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the domestic nuclear industry and to promote the peaceful applications of nuclear technology worldwide.
