Efforts for Rural Development: Coordination Meeting of Work Supervision Committee

The (1/2025) Coordination Meeting of the Rural Development Work Supervision Committee was held on Thursday at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development.

In the meeting, Union Minister U Hla Moe, the Committee Chairman stressed that efforts are being made with the objective of continuously elevating the socio-economic life of the people, starting from the sustainable development of the agriculture sector.

He urged the member departments of the Committee to collaborate more effectively to increase the production of regionally-based products derived from agriculture and livestock farming, enable the export, ensure the production of quality-compliant products, and enhance employment opportunities for local residents.

Following this, presentations were made detailing the implementation status of the Rural Development Work Supervision Committee (1/2024) meeting resolutions, the current progress for the 2025–2026 financial year, the planned activities for the 2026–2027 financial year.

And, attendees had supplementary discussions on the areas where collective effort and cooperation are required for rural development and poverty reduction, as well as matters concerning the budget allocation for rural development activities in the 2026–2027 fiscal year.
