








The Coordination Meeting on Successfully Hosting International Football Matches Organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) was held on Thursday at the National Indoor Stadium (1) Thuwunna in Yangon.
Vice-Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee and Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Htein Lin and other responsible officials attended the meeting.
In this meeting, the Deputy Minister stated that Myanmar will host football tournaments organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in October and November. These tournaments include the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026 Qualifiers from October 13 to 17, the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Qualifiers on October 14, the Asian Women’s Champions League (AWCL) 2025 Group Stage from November 9 to 15, and the AFC U-17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026 Qualifiers from November 22 to 30.
He called for systematic arrangement including security, travel/accommodation and dining and traffic rule enforcement as well as cooperation. Also, officials from the various departments presented discussions regarding their respective sectors.
And, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs discussed matters including the security of the match venues. The Deputy Director-General of the Department of Sports and Physical Education added further points regarding the successful participation and victory in the Asian Women’s Champions League (AWCL) 2025 Group Stage competition. And, the Deputy Minister delivered the closing remarks.
