Painting Competition: MoSWRR UM overseen the competition

Marking the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction – IDDRR which will fall on 13th October, Basic Education Middle and High School level Painting Competition titled “Natural Disaster Management Measures” was held at No.14 Basic Education High School in Zabuthiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on 24th September with the active participation of 77 students from 33 Basic Education Schools within the council area.

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win accompanied by Deputy Minister and concerned officials oversaw the competition. Likewise, award presentation ceremony will be held on 10th October for the winners of the competition.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister and officials attended the opening ceremony of Early Childhood Development Assessment and Rehabilitation Capacity Building Training Course at the Ministry. In his speech, the Union Minister stated that Myanmar Early Childhood Development Policy, Strategy, Law and by law were enacted in order to secure developmentally appropriate practice for all the children in Myanmar. Moreover, efforts will be exerted to provide effective Early Childhood Intervention ECI services to reduce child disability rate.

The Union Minister urged the trainees to concentrate in the courses, aiming to practice the knowledge they will learn during the training in their respective workplaces. He also encouraged to conduct ECI awareness raising programs, training courses, and assessment services continuously, drawing annual projects. The training is set to be conducted from 22nd to 26th September with the attendance of 50 trainees from 12 Regions and States.
