Receiving Russian Ambassador: UEC Chairman received Russian Ambassador

Union Election Commission Chairman U Than Soe received Mr. Iskander Azizov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation, at the Union Election Commission office's reception hall in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the UEC Chairman welcomed the Ambassador and discussed matters related to inviting election observation teams for the upcoming multi-party democracy general elections, issues concerning the management and coordination between different parts during the phased election process, matters related to advance voting abroad, political party-related issues, and other inquiries.

The UEC Chairman expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for consistently standing as a good friend to Myanmar and openly discussed the ongoing election-related processes being conducted by the Union Election Commission, changes to be implemented in the election system, the conditions for inviting election observation teams, the status of candidate nominations, measures to ensure all eligible voters can cast their votes, and responded to questions.
