Entering into the legal fold: Taninthayi Region CM welcomed returnees

A ceremony was held at Aung San Hall of No. 25 Light Battalion in Dawei Township on 24th September to welcome PDF members who entered the legal fold. Speaking on the occasion, Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko expressed his appreciation for those who chose to live peacefully within legal framework and underscored the importance of peaceful coexistence in regional development.

Then, Commander of Coastal Region Command Major General Kyaw Kyaw Han clarified the purpose of the invitation to those involved in various armed groups, including the PDF, to return to the legal fold which is to welcome the youths who chose the path of armed struggle due to various circumstances back to the peaceful ordinary life. Then, those who returned the legal fold handed over arms and ammunition to the commander and Chief Minister provided cash awards to them.
