

















On the afternoon of September 20, the Myanmar Council of Churches Peace and Reconciliation Committee organized a Special Prayer Service for Peace at the Thiri Daw Baptist Church Hall in Loikaw, with the aim of promoting stability and development in Kayah State.
The event was attended by U Saw Tun Aung Myint, Leader of the Central Advisory Group of the National Defence and Security Council, and delegation members, State Chief Minister U Zaw Myat Tin, Bishop Dr. Stephen Than Myint Oo, President of the Myanmar Council of Churches, Members of the State Government, Departmental officials, Religious leaders and congregation members from various Christian churches.
The ceremony was opened with an invocation prayer by Reverend Saw San Aung, a member of the Myanmar Council of Churches Peace and Reconciliation Committee. Following this, the guests, led by the Leader of the Central Advisory Group of the National Defence and Security Council and the State Chief Minister, sang a hymn.
Pastor Dr. Khu Yel Kyaw Htoo Minister of the Thiri Daw Baptist Church, delivered a welcome address. U Saw Tun Aung Myint, Patron of the Myanmar Council of Churches Peace and Reconciliation Committee and Leader of the NDSC Central Advisory Group, then gave the opening address.
He emphasized that the continuous development of a nation is directly linked to the unity of its people. He stressed the importance of fostering brotherly and sisterly affection, living together peacefully, and adhering to biblical teachings on mutual respect and avoiding hatred. He expressed confidence that through such prayer services, the benefits of peace they aspire to would undoubtedly be realized. Subsequently, the congregation of Thiri Daw Baptist Church sang a hymn of praise.
Next, the State Chief Minister U Zaw Myat Tin delivered a speech. Reverend Dr. Aye Min, President of the Myanmar Evangelical Christian Alliance, then preached a sermon on peace. Members of the MCCPRC sang a hymn of thanksgiving. Bishop Dr. Stephen Than Myint Oo, President of the Myanmar Council of Churches, offered a special prayer for peace, and Deacon Be Sein read a prayer scripture.
U Saw Tun Aung Myint, Patron of the MCCPRC and Leader of the NDSC Central Advisory Group delivered the closing remarks. The congregation of the Loikaw Baptist Church sang a hymn in harmony, offering praises of gratitude. Finally, the guests, led by the Leader of the NDSC Central Advisory Group and the State Chief Minister, sang a hymn. Pastor Saw Lar Pwe Nay Moo of the Loikaw Baptist Church offered a benediction, and the ceremony concluded successfully.
