Friendly Relations : Cultural performance to celebrate anniversary celebrations

A cultural performance was held on Saturday at the National Theatre in Yangon to mark the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 75th anniversary of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations.

Union Ministers U Maung Maung Ohn, U Tin Oo Lwin, and Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein attended the event, along with Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia, officials, students, and invited guests. The performances opened with scenes from the famous Ramayana drama.

Then, the Chinese Ambassador extended greetings. In his speech, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy in promoting friendship and mutual respect between nations. He also emphasized the role of cultural exchanges in strengthening bilateral ties.

This was followed by performance of famous Wu Opera Troupe from Zhejiang Province of China, known as the “Jinghua” opera, which is part of China’s 500-year-old cultural heritage.
