A second coordination meeting for organizing the 10th Anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

In his opening speech, Chairman of the Leading Committee for Organizing the 10th Anniversary of the NCA Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae said the NCA is the only official ceasefire agreement and a key pathway to building a democratic federal union.

He called for collaboration among all sub-committees, timely invitations for participants, and proper preparation of exhibits and security measures. Secretary of the Committee, Lt-Gen Min Naing presented plans for the event and related discussions.

Participants from various ministries also shared their responsibilities and suggestions. The 10th anniversary event aims to review the achievements, challenges, and lessons from the NCA over the past decade, to increase inclusive dialogue among key stakeholders, to raise public understanding of the peace process and to link peace efforts with political, security, development, and electoral initiatives.

The event will invite NCA signatories, stakeholders, political parties, ethnic armed groups, experts, students, and observers, creating a space for open discussion and experience sharing on peace and national development.
