









The 62nd Anniversary of the India Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. Prime Minister U Nyo Saw attended the ceremony which began with a video presentation on the ITEC program.
Indian Ambassador Shri Abhay Thakur then gave welcoming remarks and explained the current status of the program. In his speech, Prime Minister U Nyo Saw highlighted that the ITEC program, which began on September 15, 1964, is one of the longest-running international capacity-building programs.
He acknowledged its positive role in strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing the skills of Myanmar’s civil servants. He expressed appreciation to India for its humanitarian assistance to Myanmar during the natural disasters and stated that Myanmar is committed to further cooperation in economic, tourism, religious, and cultural sectors for mutual benefit.
Former ITEC trainees also shared their experiences at the event. The celebration also featured cultural performances by Indian dance groups.
