Respect Paying Ceremony: MOI Union Minister attends the event in Yangon

Myanmar Theatrical Association (Central) organized the 4th respect-paying ceremony to elderly theatrical performers at the association office in Insein Township, Yangon Region on September 18th.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the ceremony together with Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Region Ministers and concerned officials. After delivering words of appreciation by the Union Minister, the Chief Minister and the Director General of  the Fine Arts Department, cash donation and assistance were provided to the elderly theatrical performers.

During the event, a total of 28 million kyats, 20 sets of MRTV DTH and 100 Set-Top Boxes and 500 bags of rice were presented.

Then, the Chairman of Myanmar Theatrical Association (Central) expressed words of thanks to the related departmental officials for land grant for opening of the association office. Then, the attendees paid respect to the elderly theatrical performers and presented honourable gifts.

The attendees later enjoyed the performances of the new generation theatrical artists, featuring songs, traditional orchestra, dance, circus and magic show.
