Tree Planting Event : 600 varieties of mangrove planted in Paung Township

Mon State government organized a Mangrove Planting Ceremony at Ahlat  Village-tract in Paung Township on September 6th with the attendance of Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Minister stated that implementations on mitigation of climate change have been carried out for sustainable development of mangrove forests at coastal areas of the state. He also emphasized on long term conservation of mangrove forests as the forests plays in crucial roles in prevention of natural disasters.

Then, the Chief Minister along with the State Ministers, officials, students and locals participated in tree planting event joyfully. Then, the Chief Minister toured around the tree plantation of the participants and oversaw the well grow of mangrove trees planted previously. During the event, over 600 varieties of mangrove saplings were planted at the designated places.
