







The opening ceremony of the 26th Bago Region-Level Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition was held at the Bago City Hall on the morning of 3rd September. The Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win and his wife graced the occasion.
To formally open the event, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, Region Minister for Ethnic Affairs and the Rector of Bago University jointly cut the ceremonial ribbon.
In his opening remarks, the Chief Minister emphasized that the competitions are organized to uphold national dignity and honor, preserve cultural heritage and national identity, safeguard the traditional cultural and artistic legacies of ethnic nationalities, and foster a stronger patriotic spirit among younger generations. He highlighted that these efforts also aim to contribute to national development, stability, and peace through the cultural sector. He encouraged the contestants to compete with dedication so that Bago Region representatives could win first gold medals and advance successfully to the national-level competition.
Following the ceremony, contestants presented performances with traditional songs. The Chief Minister and his wife then presented honorariums to the performers and extended cordial encouragement to the panel of judges and contestants participating in the 26th Region-Level Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition.
