Bilateral Meeting: SSPC Chairman held discussion with Lao President

The Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a working visit to the People's Republic of China, met and discussed with His Excellency Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, at the Renaissance Tianjin Lake Hotel in Tianjin at 12:00 PM local time on September 1st.

The President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic warmly greeted the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission to begin the meeting. The meeting was attended by the Secretary of the Commission and Joint Executive Chief General Ye Win Oo, along with other commission members, union ministers, the Myanmar Ambassador to China, and senior military officials who were part of the delegation.

Officials from the Lao government also attended with the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. During the meeting, they exchanged views on various topics, including border stability between the two countries, the promotion of friendship and cooperation between the respective governments, the prospect of increasing cooperation in the tourism and trade sectors, cooperation between the two armed forces, Laos's support for the successful holding of the upcoming election in Myanmar, including its plan to send election observers and other matters to further enhance multi-sectoral cooperation.
