Sixty-five families from India and the UK affected by the Air India plane crash near Ahmedabad have sought legal assistance from American law firm Beasley Allen. US Attorney Mike Andrews, who is overseeing the case, called for the immediate release of the flight data and cockpit voice recorders to determine the cause of the disaster and evaluate potential liability. Andrews noted that the incident ranks among India’s deadliest aviation tragedies.

Mike Andrews, US attorney said “What we do know is that only parts of the data have been released, the flight data recorder, the cockpit voice recorder, only small parts of that. And so because of that, it makes it easy to promote and speak about a narrative that only focuses blame on the pilot."

He stressed that without the complete data, the public, crew members’ and victims’ families remain in the dark about the true cause. He raised concerns about whether the crash resulted from human error or a malfunction in the aircraft’s complex automated systems. Andrews said releasing the full flight recorder data would end speculation and give families long-awaited answers.
