Immigration and Population: Issuance of National Registration Cards in Magway

Commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Ministry of Immigration and Population, a ceremony to present the National Registration Card under the Pan Khin Project Phase-3 was held in Magway Township on Friday.

Chief Minister U Tint Lwin attended the ceremony, and explained the government’s efforts to hold the free and fair multi-party democratic general election, and transfer the state duty in line with the 2008 constitution. He stressed the importance of every citizen of aged 18 and above to have a national registration card, so as to cast vote in the election as the eligible voters. He called for participation of public in implementation of the work processes.

During the ceremony, over 1,800 national registration cards were presented to the eligible citizens.

The Ministry of Immigration and Population has implemented Phase 1 and 2 of Phan Khin Project as a nationwide activity. Currently, the Phase-3 of the project are underway, conducting field trips, down to the wards and villages from 1st January to 31st October 2025.

In Magway Region, over 13,000 individuals have been issued the National Registration Cards as of 11th June, amounting to 89.23%.

In addition, the Biometric data of more than 52 million population have already added to the Biographic Registration System while the data of 13 million population to the Household Registration System. In Magway Region, the Biometric data of over 870,000 people have already been added to the system, along with the issuance of 10-digit Unique Identity Number.
