More than two million people attended a free Lady Gaga concert on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, on Saturday, local media reports. According to reports the concert was paid for by the city of Rio to help revitalise its economy. It’s not the first time the city has paid for a concert of this nature, in 2024, Madonna also performed for free on Copacabana Beach.

Local media also reported that 5,000 police officers were on duty at the event and that the police also used drones to monitor the crowds. Footage shared by the official YouTube channel of the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro, shows some of the crowds as filmed from their drone.
