Syria's interim president receives high-level Turkish delegation

Syria's interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa met on Thursday with a high-level Turkish delegation, said a statement from the Syrian presidency. 

The delegation included Turkish Foreign Minister, Defense Minister and National Intelligence Organization Chief. On the Syrian side, al-Sharaa was joined by interim Foreign Minister, interim Defense Minister, and head of Syria's General Intelligence Service. 

The statement did not provide further details on the meeting. Turkish semi-official Anadolu Agency also confirmed the meeting on Thursday, saying the delegation's visit was "aimed at official talks." Türkiye reopened its embassy in Damascus, marking a significant shift in Türkiye-Syria relations.

Ankara has also pledged to back the new Syrian administration in rebuilding the country and establishing its state structures.
