Iran's supreme leader has reiterated his opposition to negotiations over the country's nuclear program, signaling his refusal of US President Donald Trump's call for a deal.

In his speech on Saturday, Khamenei apparently responded to Trump's call for negotiations. The US president said on Friday in an interview with Fox Business Network that he had sent a letter to Iran calling for a deal on its nuclear program.

Iran said it has not received Trump's letter. Khamenei said negotiations are merely a means to push demands for some foreign governments, and that they will continue to raise new expectations beyond the nuclear program.
