A total of 29 Gaza children along with their families were evacuated to Jordan on Tuesday, the first batch of the 2,000 children who will receive medical treatment in the Kingdom.

The Jordanian Armed Forces said the evacuation was coordinated by the Army, the World Health Organization, and the Health Ministry as part of the Jordanian medical corridor initiative. Four children were evacuated via helicopters from the Royal Jordanian Air Force through the Marka Military Airport, and 25 children were evacuated via land in ambulances through the King Hussein Bridge.

The total number of patients treated in Jordan's field hospitals in Gaza and the West Bank since the beginning of the Hamas-Israel conflict has exceeded half a million, the Military Media Director Brigadier General said.
