Passing-out Parade: C-In-CDS addressed the Passing-out Parade

In order to reinforce the role of servicewomen of the Tatmadaw the Passing-out Parade of the 11th Intake of Graduate Female Cadet Course was held at the parade ground of Myanmar Army Officer Training School-OTS (Hmawbi) in Yangon in the morning of 23rd December and addressed by Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.

Also present at the ceremony together with the Senior General were wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Zeya Kyawhtin Htein Win and wife, Commanderin-In-Chief (Air) General Zeya Kyawhtin Sithu Tun Aung and wife, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, Union Ministers and wives, the Yangon Region chief Minister and wife, the Commander of Yangon Command, the commandant of OTS (Hmawbi) and officials.

First, the Senior General took the salute of the cadet company and inspected it. Then the cadet company saluted the Senior General with slow-march past and quick-march past. Afterwards, the Senior General presented the Best Cadet Award to Cadet La Pyae Win. In his address, the Senior General said the Graduate Female Cadet Course was opened with the aim of turning out female military officers to enable servicewomen to take part in the national defence duty.

It has reached to 11th Intake, now and he highlighted that throughout Myanmar's history, women have played an integral role in the nation's independence, national movements, and political struggles, alongside men, enduring hardships and making sacrifices with courage and resilience.

He also emphasized that, as the country advances with vigorous development efforts across the Union, the strength and power of Myanmar's indigenous women are becoming increasingly evident.Since 2014, efforts have been made to enable the appointment of female officers within the military, and as a result, today women are serving as officers in various branches of the armed forces (army, navy, air), as well as in civilian service sectors. Additionally, the SeniorGeneral mentioned that other trusted female military officers at different ranks are also being appointed to positions of responsibility.

He further noted that these female officers continue to be trained and serve in tough, challenging, and specialized roles, including the operation of military vehicles in remote and difficult terrain, conducting joint maritime security exercises with foreign countries, and carrying out missions such as air force duties and the service of female military pilots.He emphasized the importance of three main national causes: Non-disintegration of the Union, Non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty.

He called on all to remain focused on the country and the people’s welfare, using all their abilities and strengths to achieve these goals. He also urged continued efforts to preserve the positive traditions of Myanmar's female soldiers while striving to achieve even greater milestones.

After that, the Senior General left the military parade after receiving the salute from the graduating cadet columns. After the military parade, the Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, met and congratulated Cadet La Pyae Win who won the best cadet award, Cadet Aye Thida, who won the best shooting award, Cadet Nandar Kyaw who won the best award for military parade, and Cadet Ei Phyu Maung, who won the best fitness award, at the reception hall of the Headquarters of Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Hmawbi).
