





On 20th September, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw visited Myo Gyi Dam in Ywar Ngan Township of Shan State and inspected water flowing into the dam due to torrential rainfall, resilience of the dam, water outflow from spillway and instructed the officials to monitor the dam constantly, to conduct precaution measures as well as to ensure sufficient water storage for irrigating monsoon and summer paddy and summer crop plantations.
Subsequently, the Deputy Minister and party inspected the damaged area of the lower part of Myo Gyi diversion weir, arrangements to construct retaining walls to prevent water outflow, resilience of the sluice gate and diversion weir.
Likewise, the Deputy minister and party inspected the resilience and water flow of the Min Ye diversion weir on Zawgyi River in Kyaukse Township, resilience of Zee Taw diversion weir, water inflow of Zawgyi reservoir and provided necessary instructions.
On 21st September, the Deputy Minister presided over a meeting with the regional level officials from agriculture sector at the office of the Driector of Mandalay Region Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department.
During the meeting, matters pertaining to replanting of damaged plantations due to severe floods, provision of technology assistance for pest controlling, restoration of damaged feeder canals, water irrigation for monsoon paddy plantations as well as sufficient water storage for the expansion of summer paddy plantations were discussed.
After the meeting, the Deputy Minister and party inspected restoration process of the embankment near Samar စမာ diversion weir on Pan Laung River near Myit Thar Township.
