Fake News: False claims on military service arrests

Fake news circulating on social media alleged that over 100 underage children were among the detainees for military service in the Ayeyawady Region over a one-month period from February 11th to March 11th.

However, a security official has refuted these claims, asserting that there have been no such arrests of youths under the guise of military service. These false reports by illegal and destructive media outlets, aim to incite panic among the public and mislead the youth following the implementation of the People’s Military Service Law.

The public is advised to exercise caution regarding disinformation, and accurate information regarding the law can be obtained from state-owned media outlets.
