Online Financial Fraud Ring Exposed: 95 suspects arrested in Yangon Operation

Ninety-five suspects were arrested for engaging in online financial fraud, which involved selling the personal data of foreigners residing in Yangon. Acting on a tip-off, security forces conducted a raid on Supportfix Co., Ltd., located at U Chit Maung Housing on U Chit Maung Road in Tamwe Township on October 26th.
During this operation, 88 suspects were arrested, and authorities seized the computers and mobile accessories used for data collection. Further investigations led to the capture of seven additional suspects after raiding Room No. 501 on the 5th floor of Spring Line Condo on Hlaing River Road in Insein Township.
Interrogations revealed that Zhan Tu Co., Ltd. operated from Room No. 1502 on the 15th floor of Time City Office Tower (3) in Kamayut Township and was responsible for recruiting staff for Supportfix Co., Ltd. The company office was closed down as its founder, who resided in Diamond Condo on Narnattaw Street in Kamayut Township, managed to escape.
It was exposed that the suspects had organized themselves into eight small teams, each comprising about 10 staff members. These teams used the WhatsApp social platform to collect the personal data of targeted individuals, which was then sold to other organizations for the purpose of committing online financial fraud.
