Guangdong firefighters rescue and evacuate residents

Guangdong Firefighters are taking prompt actions to ensure swift evacuation and safety of the flood-affected residents as heavy downpours wreaked havoc in Maoming City of south China on Sunday.

The city experienced an average rainfall of 147.9 millimeters, reaching the level of a severe downpour, local meteorological authorities said.

A total of 12 firefighters were sent for rescue immediately after receiving a report that 20 residents were stranded in the flood-hit areas. All the trapped residents were rescued and evacuated to safe places.
