




India launched a rocket carrying a solar probe for its four-month journey towards the Sun on Saturday, a live broadcast from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) showed.
Mission control technicians applauded as the rocket blasted off from an ISRO launch pad on the island of Sriharikota. The launch came only a week after an Indian craft soft-landed on the Moon, making India the fourth nation to achieve the daring feat and the first to touchdown on the lunar south pole region.
