Jakarta government to discuss 4 in 1 traffic policy

Indonesian Minister of transportation has proposed to revise three-in-one policy into four-in-one policy or minimum four people inside one private car the move is aimed at reducing air pollution in Jakarta.

The four-in-one policy would mean that every private car that will pass Jakarta area should contain a minimum of four people inside one private car including the driver. The minister said that such policy will reduce the number of cars in Jakarta especially cars from the buffer cities.

Previously, minister of environment and forestry has said that the worsening of the air quality in Jakarta is caused mainly by emission from the large number of vehicles in the city which reached to 24.5 million in 2022 - about 19.2 million of them are motorcycles.
