


On Sunday, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant to inspect preparations for the release of treated and diluted water from the plant into the sea.
He confirmed the offshore location of outlet to the tunnel that will release the water and also checked other equipment. After the inspection, he met with the chairman of the plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company and other TEPCO officials.After the meeting, Kishida told reporters that his government has not yet decided when to begin releasing treated water from the plant into the Sea.
He also said that the government is considering holding a meeting with senior officials of the National Federation of Fisheries Co-Operative Associations.
