





The Government Technical Institute (Thayet) in Magway Region is constructing a new 3-storey school building by spending 572 million kyats budget allotment from 2020-2021 to 2022-2023 fiscal year.
The new building will include a convocation hall, the meeting room and 8 classrooms, and it could facilitate for 320 students. Upon completion, more students will be accepted at the institute.
Principal, Dr. Kyaw San Win, GTI (Thayet) said "There are 8 classrooms on the ground floor and the 1st floor. On the 2nd floor, the convocation hall and the meeting hall will be involved. Plans are underway to be able to accept more school enrollment. "
The students not only from Thayet District but also from other townships attend the institute, and thus, the hostels are provided for the students from other townships.
First Year Student, Su Thiri Mon, GTI (Thayet) said "I came from Innma Township for my education because I want to be an engineer. Everything is fine here and I stay at the hostel which is provided for the students from other places."
When the students complete 3 years study, AGTI Diploma certificate will be presented. Over 1,000 graduated students have been produced from the institute until now. In 2022-2023 Academic Year, 54 teachers are giving lectures to 399 students at GIT (Thayet).
