China seeks better economic ties to Iran, Australia

China said it will buy more Iranian goods after Iran’s president wrapped up an official visit to the country. A spokesperson for China’s ministry of commerce told that President Ebrahim Raisi and Chinese leaders discussed economic and trade ties during his visit and the two sides “reached a series of positive achievements”.

Xi and Raisi attended the signing of 20 cooperation agreements including trade and tourism. Those add to a 25-year strategy agreement signed in 2021 to cooperate in developing oil, industry and other fields. Meanwhile, China stands ready to work with Australia to bring bilateral trade back on track. Australia's trade minister is set to visit China sometime in the near future.
