Myanmar has been exporting handicrafts, accessories and finished products made of gold to the Republic of Korea market and now plans are under way to export to Japan market, according to the chairman of Yangon Region Gold Entrepreneurs Association (YGEA).

Myo Myint, Chairman, YGEA said "We will export handmade products made of gold like small tiger, elephant and mouse statues to Japan market. Foreigners do not like those things made by machines. Myanmar has ever exported such items to Japan and they like, so they order again, but, discussions on transport are underway due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The Republic of Korea has already had a joint-ventured factory in Myanmar. At present, the domestic handicraft market is stable."

In the local gold market, the Yangon Region Gold Entrepreneurs Association has issued notice not to spread fake rumors to raise the gold prices, and to sell gold according to the specified prices set by the government.
