Farmers in the Argentine province of Santa Fe worry about the constant drought that has decimated their cattle and crops. Authorities estimate that 3,000 cows have died across Santa Fe province. The drought, which has lasted for three years, is due to the La Niña weather phenomenon, causing millionary financial losses.

As of January 10, half of the Argentine territory suffers different degrees of drought. Farming provinces of Santa Fe, Entre Ríos and Córdoba are in a similar situation, prompting authorities to seek measures to reduce the impact of the losses. Another consequence of the lack of rain, high temperatures, and lack of humidity is recurring fires.
