Raising awareness for athletes: Workshop entitled, “Stronger Together” held

Organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, the Committee for Athlete Affairs of Myanmar Olympic Committee launched a workshop entitled, “Stronger Together” at the WunnaTheikdhi Stadium (B) in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

The workshop was held with the aim for raising awareness onprohibited drugs and Sports Psychology that should be known before competing in international sports competitions. At the event, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min TheinZan called for striving to become outstanding selected athletes by promoting the prestige of the nation with sports spirit in competing upcoming invitation contests in local and the South East Asia, Asia and World Level Sports Tournaments.

According to the agenda, the Chairman of the Committee for Athlete Affairs, the Vice Chairman of Myanmar Women’s Sports Federation and officials explained about the functions of Sports Committee, sports psychology training and education, prohibited drugs, responsibilities and opportunities of individual athlete and facts that should be known by athletes about sports sector.

After that, the group representatives discussed the Guiding Questions by dividing into 10 groups on which an official clarified the summary. The Union Minister also presented cash to lecturers and fulfilled the needs. The discussion was made for the athletes represent Myanmar who will participate in the 32nd SEA Games which will be held in Cambodia in 2023 in line with the competition rules and winning gold medals.
