Illegal trade: Illegal timbers, industrial accessories, vehicles seized

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On 24 November, an on-duty team led by Myanmar Police Force found a Toyota Alphard without licence at the junction of Natmauk Street and Thinkyaryay Street of Kanhla village in Magway Township.

The officials seized 10 gallons of crude oil in Hayla Hill area from the Htaukshabin-Htankine-Mann Oil field in Minbu.

An on-duty team found foodstuffs such as Lactasoy soy milk, Royal-D, Nestle Milo, edible oil made in Thailand, refrigerators and washing machines without official documents and a Nissan vehicle carrying the goods at the Shwe Thanlwin toll gate on Yangon-Mawlamyine highway.

Furthermore, an on-duty team found 8,900 kilogrammes of black sesame and a Dong Feng Tractor head vehicle at 16th mile Kyaukchaw checkpoint. On 25 November, a combined team found over 1.50 tonnes of illegal teak parquet, teak and ironwood lumber in Kyaukdaga Township, Bago Region.

On 25 November, the officials found 3,500 pieces of sweaters, longsleeve shirts and trousers made in China from a vehicle at Letpanhla-Singu temporary checkpoint and a vehicle and a tractor. The total worth of seizures amounted to 105.05 million Kyats.

An on-duty team under the supervision of Customs Department found industrial accessories which are not match in the Import Declaration (ID) at the airport cargo garage in Yangon International Airport.

Therefore, 16 cases at an estimated value of 170.007 million Kyats were taken action on 24th and 25th November, according to the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee.
